As an EHS Specialist, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and compliant work environment across multiple facilities, contributing to the company’s mission of operational excellence and environmental stewardship. Responsibilities
- Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments across departments and facilities, developing effective solutions.
- Collaborate with department managers to integrate safety policies into daily operations and lead interdisciplinary teams on EHS concerns.
- Coordinate and manage safety protocols across multiple buildings, ensuring compliance and consistency.
- Develop ergonomic solutions to reduce injuries and oversee hazardous waste management programs.
- Provide technical support for EHS topics such as Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space Entry, Emergency Response, Hazard Communication, Waste Management, Spill Response, and Storm Water Management.
- Assist in creating and improving EHS policies and procedures, participate in incident investigations, and manage documentation related to OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001, and Integrated Management Systems.
- Perform additional job duties or safety-related tasks as needed to support organizational goals and enhance safety performance.
Requirements
- 5 years experience in environmental health and safety roles within a large manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and standards, with experience in coordinating safety across multiple departments and buildings.
- First aid/emergency response experience, is a plus
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Experience with OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001, and Integrated Management Systems.
- Ability to coach and engage employees in safety best practices.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
