November Virtual Chapter Meeting

Please join us online for our November chapter meeting on Thursday, November 19 at 11:30 a.m. Central via Google Meet. We’re pleased to welcome Dave Crowley, CSP (Ret), CHMM Emeritus, Safety For Nonprofits, Inc. (S4NP) Founder & Exec. Committee Member  to speak on:

Advancing the ASSP Community with Safety For NonProfits
“People volunteering and giving back shouldn’t get hurt when doing good.”

Volunteers at food banks, animal shelters, community theaters, and charity warehouses face many of the same hazards we manage every day: forklifts, overhead power lines, vehicle traffic, fire risk. But most nonprofits have no safety professional on staff. S4NP is a 501(c)(3) founded by safety professionals to close that gap by connecting OHS pros with nonprofits that need pro bono help.

What you’ll hear about:
• Real incidents involving nonprofit volunteers, and what could have prevented them
• S4NP’s 2024 strategic alliance with ASSP
• Case studies, including forklift training for a medical-supply nonprofit and a safety and fire prevention assessment at a community theater
• How chapters can earn COMT points through community-based projects
• Volunteer opportunities for members (including those working toward CSP/ASP recertification) and internships for OHS students
• How S4NP’s vetting and “GO-NO GO” process supports volunteers

When: Thursday, November 19, 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 pm CST
