Whirlpool Cave, Caving Expedition

Hey Adventurers!

Ready to ditch the ordinary and dive into the extraordinary? We’re inviting you to explore the hidden depths of Whirlpool Cave, a fantastic beginner-friendly wild cave experience that promises a morning of thrilling discovery!

Here’s the scoop:

• When: April 4th, from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM (we’re giving ourselves some wiggle room, but expect to be back above ground before noon!).
• Where: Meet us at the little parking lot under Mopac, near 4529 Convict Hill Rd. (approximate address).
• What to Expect:
  • Get ready to get down and dirty! This is a hands-on, knees-on, all-fours adventure.
  • We’ll be navigating a corkscrew passage, tackling short belly crawls, conquering a 12-foot ladder climb, and exploring passages with plenty of room to sit and stand.
  • No rock climbing, but expect some up-and-down movement within the cave.
  • We’ll kick things off with essential cave conservation and safety tips, and get you geared up with helmets, headlamps, and elbow/knee pads (all provided!).
  • The experience itself will be around 1.5-2 hours of cave time.
